Friends of Cedar Creek work to ensure the highest water quality
for Cedar Creek and to protect and preserve its watershed including
geologic features, native plants and animals.
Please note this important email from the Indiana Tree Alliance, whose
website was set up to gather and encourage Hoosier to indicate their
displeasure in the way that Indiana utility companies have butchered the
landscape under and near utility poles (you know it as "Trees vs. Power Lines").
The wanton destruction of valuable trees, especially in residential areas,
has the ire of a great many Hoosiers and the result after several state
utility hearings is this legislation designed to protect homeowners by
giving notice and establishing reasonable procedures.
This is your opportunity to counter an onslaught of utility company lobbying
in the legislature against any restraint on their part. Without activity
on our part you can expect the worst the next time you see the big orange
trucks near you . . .

Subject: Write a Letter - Save a Tree
The Indiana Tree Alliance has launched a new "Write a Letter - Save a Tree"
webpage to make your letter writing quick and easy!
This new webpage has the following consolidated information and tools
to make your letter writing a quick, efficient and effective process:
Find your State legislator tool
Potential talking points for your letter
Sample letter
Complete instructions including letter writing tips and best practices
Other important politicos' contacts
Currently, we need you to write your Indiana State Senator and House
Representative by January 7th, 2010,
and ask that they support the "Tree Bill."
With the same or similar letter, please also write other important
politicos we have identified in our campaign webpage - Senator Merritt and
Representative Moses are of special importance. Full details of these
other politicos with their contact information are available at:
http://www.indianatreealliance.com/saveatree/#write_others.
Print it out and hand out these fliers at your children's sporting events,
community meetings and in your neighbor's newspaper boxes [anywhere but in
their USPS mailbox]. This is a HIGHLY effective method to spread the word
about our cause.
Remember, State legislators need to hear that the "Tree Bill" is important
to their constituents. While Indiana Utilities have millions of dollars in
lobbying money on their side, we have letter writing on our side.
It is important you recruit others to write as well. Please forward this
eMail on to others and pass out the fliers linked above. Our new webpage
contacting your legislators about the "Tree Bill" a quick and easy process.
